Licensed PI Firms

Only private investigative firms licensed by the Commonwealth of Virginia Department of Criminal Justice Services (DCJS) are permitted by statute to solicit, contract to perform, or provide private investigative services in Virginia. Every contract issued by a firm licensed by DCJS will contain the firm’s License Number which will begin with the number 11 and followed by a four-digit number (e.g., 11-1111).
